Leading up to the 1996 championship game at Ivor Wynne Stadium, one of the storylines pertained to whether the final Grey Cup game was about to be played. 1954 – The Fumble: Edmonton defeated Montreal 26-25 on the strength of a 90-yard fumble return by Jackie Parker, who scored with three minutes left. Montreal lost despite amassing 656 yards of total offence, with Sam Etcheverry hitting Red O’Quinn for 13 passes, totalling 316 yards.
