Washington, Jan. 22: Three Calcuttans explain why they took part in the Women’s March on Washington. While women constituted the bulk of the demonstrators, many were accompanied by husbands, boyfriends and children. If what I witnessed in January 2013 was a presidential inauguration, 2017 felt like its antithesis. I set out from New York City at 3am for the Women's March with my cousin and her kids. I was marching because over the last one year, I have seen Trump carry out a campaign with a highly misogynistic rhetoric.
