However, lightning strikes claimed the life of a youth residing in Mahalaxmi. Apart from this, three persons were killed due to lightning and 14 others were injured in Palghar. Praveen Jadhav, a youth from Mahalakshmi, allegedly died after lightning struck him. Fourteen others were injured due to lightning and were rushed to Manor Rural Hospital and the Sub District Hospital at Kasa. The lightning strikes caused further damage as a fuel tank is suspected to have triggered a major blaze at Mumbai Port Trust's Pirpau Jetty.
