Libya: General Khalifa Haftar receives the Russian Deputy Defense Minister in Benghazi

The Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Khalifa Haftar, received the Russian Deputy Defense Minister in his office at the Ar Rajma military base, near Benghazi, Junus-bek Yevkurov, and his delegation. For his part, the Russian deputy minister "underlined Russia's contribution to the development of the capabilities of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces in the areas of training and increasing efficiency, underlining joint cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism" . Yevkurov, arrived yesterday at Benina airport Benghazi, in eastern Libya, on his fifth visit to the country since last August. The latter, son of the "field marshal", had gone to Moscow at the beginning of the month where he had met, among others, the deputy foreign minister Mikhail Bogdanov. The Russian embassy in Libya, for its part, had defined the investigation as a "mixture of half-truths and lies" that would have been "manufactured by Western secret services".
