Lawmakers look into coast guard, national defence lawsThe draft law on Vietnamese coast guard force and the draft revised law on national defence were among issues National Assembly (NA) deputies discussed on May 22, the second day of the ongoing fifth session of the 14th tenure parliament. Minister of National Defence Ngo Xuan Lich, on behalf of the Prime Minister, presented the draft law on Vietnamese coast guard force. After that, Vo Trong Viet delivered another report on revisions to the draft revised law on national defence, which later continued to be scrutinised by legislators at the discussion. A draft law amending some articles of the laws relating to the Law on Planning and a verification report on this draft is set to be submitted to the NA. Later, lawmakers will work in groups to discuss the draft law amending some articles of the laws relating to the Law on Planning and the draft law on crop production.-VNA
