The group's revenue increased 4% to RM363.53 million in 3QFY16, from RM349.51 million in 3QFY15. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, LPI said underwriting profit for 3QFY16 rose by 2.8% to RM69.7 million, from RM67.8 million in 3QFY15, primarily driven by a 6.4% growth in earned premium income. "The general insurance segment also performed well, growing its profit by 16.8% to RM233.5 million, from RM199.9 million in 3QFY15. The group's revenue grew 8.2% to RM1.02 billion in 9MFY16, from RM945.96 million in 9MFY15, largely contributed by the general insurance segment. LPI shares closed the morning session 8 sen or 0.48% higher at RM16.68 today, on thin trading volume of 1,900 shares.
