KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 6): The FBM KLCI rose 3.77 points or 0.2%, tracking Asian shares, after the U.S. services sector reported better numbers. At 12:30pm, the KLCI settled at 1,666.69 points. Bursa Malaysia saw 771.61 million shares worth RM666.49 million traded. Reuters reported Asian shares firmed on Thursday, encouraged by stronger U.S. economic data and a rise in oil prices, while growing prospects of a U.S. rate hike hit gold and boosted the dollar to one-month highs versus the yen. In Malaysia today, Kenanga Investment Bank Bhd wrote in a note that there was no key catalysts in the stock market.
