Ethiopia took the title through Gudaf Tsegay, who posted 14:46:29 as compatriot Dawit Seyaum clinched the bronze medal in 14:47.36. World 10, 000 bronze medalist Margaret Chelimo came fourth in 14:47.71 as Gloria Kite finished 10th in 15:01.22.
