GEORGE TOWN: The demolition of homes of at Kampung Kastam here, followed procedures. "The Royal Customs Department had issued the notice back in 2015 and the latest notice was issued by JKPTG on August 7 this year. There are 114 houses located on the land which served as quarters for personnel from the Royal Customs Department. Currently only 35 of it is occupied by retired Customs personnel while others had since been vacated. Yesterday, residents together with Makkal Sakti president Datuk RS Thanenthiran objected the demolition without giving the residents a fair compensation.
