Kelantan tables deficit state budget for 2018


KOTA BARU: The Kelantan government tabled its budget 2018 with a deficit of RM41.74 million compared with a deficit of RM42.65 million in the previous budget. He said the state government expected a 9.4 per cent rise in revenue or RM59.92 million, compared with 636.98 million in the previous budget. He said Kelantan’s budget 2018 allocates RM738.64 million for operating expenditure, an increase of RM59.01 million or 8.68 per cent from the previous budget of RM679.63 million, comprising liability payments (RM25.53 million) and supply expenditure (RM713.11 million). "Crops and other land resources are the largest contributor for the state's revenue in 2018 at RM239.96 million, an increase of RM59.92 million from the previous budget," he said when tabling budget 2018 at the state assembly here today. "The Kelantan Islamic Foundation Kelantan will receive RM96 million and the State Welfare Department will receive RM29.89 million for its welfare work," he said.
