KUALA LUMPUR: A law should be formulated to ensure the rights of women wearing hijabs are preserved, said Kinabatangan Member of Parliament Datuk Bung Moktar Radin. He was responding to the recent debate that women with hijabs were not allowed to work at the front line of certain hotels as it did not adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP). "These hotel operators are too rude in our country, they need to be taught. Bung said, the government should take the issue seriously, while calling on the Dewan Rakyat to formulate, change and vote in support of any law that could preserve the rights of women who wear hijabs. It revealed that students in hospitality and tourism courses have also been instructed to follow suit when undergoing internships with hotels.
