The Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation has launched a legal battle at the High Court in attempt to unfreeze its bank accounts being probed over money laundering. Musyoka is seeking several orders among them one stopping the NGO board from deregistering the foundation or interfering with its operations in any way. The NGO board, through its executive director Fazul Mohamed, directed the Central Bank of Kenya on May 2 to freeze all accounts belonging to the foundation until further notice. While freezing the accounts, Fazul accused the foundation of operating illegal accounts. The NGO board accused the foundation of operating secret accounts, local and foreign, in contravention of the NGO Coordination Act.
