Deanna Leblanc had done a knee scope procedure at a Newmarket hospital on Feb. 28, 2014 and gone home, the jury heard. When Deanna Leblanc arrived at Georgian Bay General Hospital’s emergency department, she was “vital signs absent.” Dr. Gert van Rooyen testified Leblanc had no pulse and no blood pressure. He testified he told Michael Leblanc his wife was brain-dead and that he did not expect her to recover. Another reason he showed Michael Leblanc the resuscitation, van Rooyen said, was to give him closure. “That is because you expected (Deanna Leblanc) was going to die?” Peeris said.
