Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has teamed up with Kisauni MP Rashid Bedzimba to campaign against those who have declared an interest in their positions. On Saturday, Joho and Bedzimba met Kisauni residents and told them to “wait and see” the fierce political campaigns after the end of Ramadhan. At Mlaleo, Bedzimba described Joho and himself as “bridegrooms”, who need to be escorted during their wedding day. On Saturday, Bedzimba and Mbogo tried to outdo each other as they distributed food to residents as Ramadhan gifts. Businessman Ali Mbogo, who has invested in petrol stations, has launched an intensive campaign to unseat Bedzimba, whereas Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar wants to become governor.
