Japan’s prime minister is showing off a folksy souvenir he brought home from his recent trip to Canada. In a video posted to his official Instagram account, Shinzo Abe installs a wooden door-knocker featuring a wood carving of a beaver. The prime minister’s office confirmed that the door-knocker was not a gift from Justin Trudeau, meaning Abe likely purchased it himself when he was in Canada to meet Trudeau. Abe had warm words for his Saturday night dinner at the Prime Minister’s Meech Lake retreat in West Quebec. “We are very happy to see the development of our bilateral relationship as well as partnership in various areas, including our economic co-operation (and) security co-operation,” Abe said.
