“I thought I’d get back to a stage when I could run, or play football, but I tried a five-mile run and I was, ‘Wow – I can’t do that’. I’ll never play football again. “I enjoyed football, don’t get me wrong…but I wasn’t a ‘footballer’. I’ve got a really good picture of that game, when I scored and the crowd were going mad…I loved it. We would play the computer, play pool, play a bit of football.
