KUALA LUMPUR: The government is constantly striving to improve Islamic education standards, in line with the Malaysia Education Development Plan 2013-2025. Deputy Education Minister Datuk P. Kamalanathan, speaking in the Dewan Rakyat today, said the improvements were carried out through the Primary School Standard Curriculum (KSSR) and Secondary School Standard Curriculum (KSSM). He said the curriculums incorporated elements of High-Level Thinking Skills (KBAT) as well as the concept of wasatiyyah, or moderation. Kamalanathan was replying to a question from Nasrudin Hassan (Pas-Temerloh) during the Ministers' Question Time (MQT). He added that the Education Ministry had also implemented the Ulul Albab Tahfiz Model (TMUA) in 11 religious secondary schools and four boarding schools.
