PETALING JAYA: Puspakom will investigate claims that its employees are getting illegal payments to allow vehicle owners to pass tests. Some commercial vehicle owners have claimed that a few Puspakom employees are working with runners to collect RM100 each from owners whose vehicles had failed the inspections. A taxi driver who declined to be named said he was surprised that his car had failed the brake test. Selangor and Federal Territory Taxi Owners Association president S. Balakrishnan confirmed that some members had complained about the RM100 payments. In a statement, it said the vehicle inspection processes are done by computerised equipment.
