KUALA LUMPUR: In a move to curb fuel fraud, the government will inspect and monitor the accuracy of fuel station pumps, the Dewan Rakyat was told today. He said all pump machines at petrol stations must adhere to pre-defined standards and rules and each petrol station operator is required by law to perform fuel pumps calibration annually. "There have been suggestions that the government conduct enforcement at every petrol station to ensure the pump meters tally with the amount of fuel dispensed. "In this regard, we have appointed a company to make sure that all petrol pumps are in accordance with the rules and regulations. "The company will also check the petrol pumps when it is due for inspection," he said when winding up the 2018 Budget debate at the committee level for his ministry.
