Iran has temporarily freed around 85,000 prisoners including political detainees in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus, the government said today. 'This is also my worrying concern and therefore I have recommended to the state of the Islamic Republic of Iran to release all prisoners on temporary release,' he said. The United States has also urged Iran to release political prisoners, including Americans held on spying charges.
