It was a much needed wake up call for the Department, which in a way was neglected by the government. Now the focus is not just confined to just Intermediate exams but also the SSC board and exams of all the universities. SSC results are equally sensitive given the teenage emotions connected with them. Errors in SSC results can also lead to increased suicides, officials fear, and they want to be doubly sure before the final results are announced. Strengthening the conduct of exams itself by installing CCTV cameras in all evaluation camps and following the jumbling system are other key reforms being thought of.
