The council would consider the charges laid against Youi and whether that had impacted on the reputation of the insurance industry, Grafton said. Council chief executive Tim Grafton said the council was "disappointed with the actions and processes at Youi" which had led to the charges. On Thursday the Commerce Commission laid 15 charges against Youi, alleging the insurer used misleading sales techniques when attempting to sell policies to the public.
