Perhaps these changes will compel Trudeau to keep one of his many broken promises to Indigenous peoples. The NDP and Green Party are both vocal in their commitment towards addressing Indigenous issues, while the Conservatives appear indifferent towards Indigenous issues – which, unsurprisingly, reflects past Conservative governments. Unfortunately, the rising threat of Western alienation will continue to take priority over Indigenous issues. Indigenous peoples have been lied to before when similar promises and commitments go unfulfilled. Indigenous peoples will continue to be casualties in this process.
