Haji Wahed Mansion at Nandan Kumar Lane, in Chawkbazar's Churihatta area of Old Dhaka, engulfed in a massive fire on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 Mahmud Hossain Opu/Dhaka TribuneThe committee is supposed to submit the report in 7 daysA six member committee of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) on Monday visited the Churihatta area in Old Dhaka to investigate and uncover the real cause of the blaze that claimed 67 lives on February 20 night. The committee is named “Investigation and Recommendation committee regarding fire incident.”The committee members at an initial stage refused to comment on their investigation. Later, assistant General Secretary of IEB, (Academic and International affairs) Kazi Khairul Bashar, told journalists that “We will submit the report to the concerned authority and it will officially be disclosed to the media.”The committee is supposed to submit the report in 7 days. Former President of IEB and Convener of the committee, Engineer Nurul Huda, and engineers Hamidul Haque, Prof Dr Munaj Ahmed Nur, Dr Yasir Arafat, and Dr Kazi Bayezid Kabir among others, led the inspection team.
