(ICTSI) is boosting the capacity and efficiency of its container terminal in Georgia to make it more competitive. In a statement on Thursday, the Razon-led port operator said the expansion of its multipurpose unit Batumi International Container Terminal (BICT) would focus on itswaterside and landslide segments aimed at increasing the capacity and improving the efficiency of cargo flows. The terminal’s container-handling capacity is expected to double to 200,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) annually with the boost. “This new investment consolidates and expands BICT’s competitive position,” Hans-Ole Madsen, ICTSI senior vice president and Europe, Middle East and Africa head, said in the statement. Shares of ICTSI rose by 90 centavos or 0.78 percent to close at P115.90 apiece on Thursday.
