The fact is that cars are still supposed to be driven by attentive people. I have an early model of a corrective auto pilot in my car. It is called a “wife.” A sudden intake of breath or a rapid start movement to my right informs me that I must have done something that the auto pilot doesn’t approve and I must look at correcting. I do have the power to override this recommended correction at my personal risk of a discussion that is usually best avoided.
