Aroma Dutta, MP hands over the Laila Hijra Memorial Award 2020, organized by Bandhu Social Welfare Society CourtesyLaila Hijra Memorial Award 2020 has been presented to late Hijra Guru BobyParliamentarian and human rights activist Aroma Dutta has said she will discuss with speaker to make the process fast of Hijra Gender Law. She was speaking at the “Laila Hijra Memorial Award 2020” held at the Bangladesh Girls Guide Association at Bailey Road, a press release said on Friday. Hijra Guru Boby Hijra won the award for her contribution in improving the lives of transgender and Hijra community and ensuring their rights and self-acceptance. The award ceremony was arranged by Bandhu Social Welfare Society on the occasion of Transgender Day or Remembrance. Laila Hijra fought and struggled throughout her life to ensure recognition and health service of transgender community in Bangladesh, especially in the field of Prevention of HIV/AIDS since the 90’s.
