A Court has ordered 36 students expelled from Chuka University to be readmitted. High Court judge Weldon Korir said the students should return to school upon payment of fees, in order to preserve the interest of the university. The students were part of the 40 students expelled in February after the institution was closed indefinitely following chaos sparked by disputed student elections. Justice Korir said the order by the court will lapse if the students engage in further acts of violence. According to information provided in court by the university, property worth Sh11 million was damaged.
