New Delhi, June 12: Congress leaders flooded social media with messages on good governance and inclusive politics and linked them to the re-launch of The National Herald, the newspaper Jawaharlal Nehru had founded. Instead of relying on the traditional modes of publicity, the party chose Twitter and Facebook to draw attention to the event. For instance, Digvijaya Singh tweeted in the morning: "Equality should be the aim of every government. This was a quote from an interview Rahul Gandhi had given to the Herald that the commemorative edition launched by Vice-President Hamid Ansari in Bangalore used. The party tweeted: "The paper's spirit and legacy has been to promote democracy, pluralism and to combat all coercion".
