New Delhi, June 12: Rahul Gandhi today appointed Fairoz Khan, a Kashmiri, as the National Students Union of India (NSUI) president, reports our special correspondent. The decision to pick a Kashmiri youth to head the party's student wing is being widely hailed by senior leaders at a time the youth of the troubled state are looking for healing touch. Rahul personally selected him after interviewing the candidates shortlisted by a screening panel. The 28-year-old Fairoz is a postgraduate and is among the few students who established NSUI in Kashmir. He came to Delhi as a national NSUI secretary and then became a general secretary last year.
