A large forestry blaze near Milton in Otago has been contained. Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Ian Littlejohn said firefighters were called to Coal Gully Rd, about 9 kilometres east of Milton, about 6.45am on Wednesday. Three other helicopters were called to the scene as a precaution. Police were called about 7am after firefighters thought the fire could be suspicious, a police spokeswoman said. The cause of the fire has not yet been identified and a specialist rural fire investigator is at the scene.
