OPINION: Like many people who have recently booked flights with Air New Zealand, my first reaction on hearing about the airline's nationwide fare cuts was to curse. There's no $39 fare at all in the morning. BEVAN READ/STUFF Air New Zealand has slashed airfares on 41 regional routes. To get that into perspective, Air New Zealand recently advertised a return fare to Fiji for $497, no woollies required. For business travellers, and those with limited time, however, seeing the much-vaunted, but inconvenient, $39 fares will just be an extra twist of the knife, when they buy their eye-wateringly expensive domestic travel tickets.
