This allocation is being made at a time when the vulnerability of the country's health sector was exposed with the Covid-19 onslaught. Other than this, no new project from the Health Ministry was approved for the next ADP. Planning Minister MA Mannan said: “A larger amount should have been allocated. As per the system, respective ministries or divisions formulate their development projects and then sends them to the planning minister for the final approval. The ADP allocation for health sector in the current fiscal year (2019-20) is Tk12,236 crore, while it was Tk10,809 crore in 2018-19 and Tk8,690 crore in 2017-18.
