Rise to the occasionOn July 7, 2017, Parvez Miah was serving as a constable with the Highway Police in Comilla’s Daudkandi. Parvez was regulating vehicles at a bus stop near Gouripur when a speeding bus lost control and veered off the highway and plunged into a pond. He was the only one who leapt to the rescue, shattering bus windows and ushering people out. “I always thought that if I served the country well, the country will do well. How am I supposed to tell her that her son’s life has been rewritten, and his leg cut off?”
