Shoma was given a total sentence of 42 years for her crime but will be eligible for parole after 31 years and six months. Singaravelu survived the attack, which occurred just eight days after Shoma arrived in Australia. “Your sole purpose to enter this country was to carry out a terrorist attack,” she said. Shoma pleaded guilty to engaging in a terrorist attack last September.
