Rishi Kapoor is a study of contradictions. Playing father to Saif Ali Khan's character, Rishi Kapoor reinvented the game by playing a very hip, cool father. Even though not the most fleshed out character in the film, Rishi Kapoor registered a memorable performance. Hum Tum marked the dawn of Rishi Kapoor - the character actor. Playing a grandfather, with a morbid sense of humour and an affinity for porn, Rishi Kapoor continues to be the most likeable element of a movie.
