The High Court has ordered vehicle owners and drivers in Dhaka to surrender their hydraulic horns to local police stations within 15 days. After 15 days, police will take steps to destroy the horns as using those have been banned, the court said. Both the authorities in their reports said they had seized a huge number of hydraulic horns in the city, but some people still used it. The use of hydraulic horns is in violation of Motor Vehicles Ordinance, 1983 as it creates noise pollution.
