DETROIT >> Strong winds blasted through parts of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, knocking tree limbs onto power lines and cutting electricity to hundreds of homes and businesses. MLive.com reports that 4,000 Consumers Energy customers in southern Michigan’s Branch County lost power after wind and lightening damaged a third-party transmission system. Hundreds of outages have been reported throughout Oakland County as of Sunday afternoon. About 600 customers in Macomb Township also lost electricity.
