Grocery spend slows down as shoppers wait for ChristmasResearch group Kantar said that while total grocery spending was 2.6pc higher in Ireland during the 12 weeks to November 3, the pace of growth was slower compared with the previous 12 weeks. "The slight deceleration in the past 12 weeks is largely down to shoppers being wary of spending and holding back slightly ahead of the big Christmas rush," said Kantar consumer insight director Charlotte Scott.
