Perhaps being let go by Leinster was the wake-up call he needed considering he had shown huge potential throughout his under-age days. The short-term deal at Munster was quickly extended by another three months and before he knew it, Loughman was offered a permanent contract. You don't clock up those kind of numbers at a club like Munster unless you are doing something right. Dave Kilcoyne's untimely injury has opened the door for Loughman and he has grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Working under Graham Rowntree will enhance his technique, as will being involved with more experienced props every day in training.
