“On the economy, the average growth for the entire year is expected to be -3.4 percent and this is being reviewed as we see more data. We want to increase testing toward the 10 million mark to include whole testing of workers,” he said. “The second is to facilitate the opening of public transport. However public transport is around 50 percent so that is why we are looking at the advice of health care workers to help us determine to what extent we can open public transport while maintaining the safety of the passengers,” Chua said. The NEDA chief assured that as the country transitions into a new normal, the government will continue to support the recovery of the economy.
