Gary Rossington, one of the founding members and guitarists of the legendary rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, has passed away at the age of 71. Rossington had been facing health issues for many years, including a heart attack in 2015 and emergency heart surgery earlier this year. Rossington suffered severe injuries but eventually recovered and resumed his work with the band when it reformed in 1987. Since then, Rossington remained a beloved figure in the world of rock music, continuing to perform and record with Lynyrd Skynyrd. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 as a member of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
