MANILA, Philippines — GMA Network on Saturday said it acted swiftly when it was informed that a newsroom worker tested positive for COVID-19. “GMA immediately took action when an employee informed the Network that she tested positive for COVID-19,” read the statement of the TV Network. This was after a group of workers from GMA Network condemned the supposed “slow response” of the media giant on the infected newsroom staff. Free rapid testing for field personnel of GMA is also being conducted, the media company noted. GMA also said it would shoulder the cost of swab testing for those who tested positive during the rapid test.
