Visitors will need free admission tickets to gain entry to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture after it opens Sept. 24. Timed tickets are intended to alleviate wait times for the public, officials said, and they will be required for visitors to gain entry. They will be available through the museum’s website and by phone. Starting Monday, Sept. 26, four timed passes per visitor can be obtained in person at the museum for the same-day visit. The passes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis by the museum’s Visitor Services staff, starting at 9:15 a.m.
