Four pedestrians were struck by a car in downtown Annapolis on Saturday afternoon, according to a statement from the Annapolis Police Department. Annapolis Fire Department units responded at approximately 3:15 p.m. to a report of pedestrians struck at the intersection of Compromise Street and St. Mary’s Street. A mother in her 50s and her adult daughter in her 30s were transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma. The other two pedestrians were evaluated and treated on the scene, both declining a transport. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed but remained on the scene, informing officers that their brakes had failed in the vehicle, leading the individual to drive onto the sidewalk.
