Envoys of China, India and Pakistan on Sunday paid separate courtesy calls on Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and reaffirmed their countries' commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Bangladesh under the newly formed government. They also felicitated Dr Khalilur Rahman on his assumption of office as foreign minister. The Chinese ambassador also conveyed an invitation from the Chinese Foreign Minister for Dr Rahman to undertake an official visit to China at a mutually convenient time. Dr Rahman reiterated Bangladesh's intent to build a forward-looking and balanced partnership with India based on mutual interest for the benefit of the peoples of both countries. The foreign minister expressed the government's intent to explore new avenues of collaboration with Pakistan for the welfare of the peoples of both countries.
