KUALA LUMPUR: The four men who had robbed a woman at gunpoint in Jalan Ipoh here five months ago were sentenced to five years’ jail by the Sessions Court today. The quartet admitted to robbing 61-year-old businesswoman Ang Chin Ai of her Toyota Land Cruiser in front of a Hainanese chicken rice shop at Lot 651-1, Batu 4 1/2, in Jalan Ipoh here about 7am on April 24. Deputy public prosecutor Nur Akmal Farhan Aziz, in urging for a deterrent sentence, said what the two accused did to the victim, who was a senior citizen, was heartless. According to the facts of the case, the two accused had attacked the victim by strangling and punching him before taking money from the his pocket. All accused were unrepresented.
