GEORGE TOWN: A woman was bruised and lost two teeth after being knocked down by a motorbike believed to have run a red light at a pedestrian crossing in Sungai Nibong here. The impact saw the victim being flung a few metres and hitting the ground face down, with the motorcyclist speeding off. She managed to pick herself up and walk to safety in the hit-and-run accident at 6.50pm Monday. The 42-year-old woman, an accountant who declined to be named, lodged a police report on the same day. On April 6, Foo Swee Wah, 58, was killed in a similar hit-and-run accident at a pedestrian crossing in Pulau Tikus in Penang.
