Four Bangladesh Chhatra League men allegedly assaulted two journalists at the Dhaka University campus on Tuesday. The accused attackers are DU Chhatra League Bijoy Ekattor Hall unit Assistant secretary Ahmed Foysal, Deputy Human Resources Affairs Secretary Tofayel Hossain, and activists Anwarul Kabir and Ashraful Islam Sakib. The two victims, Masum Billah of bdnews24.com and a female journalist of Channel 24, are former students of DU. After the journalists then introduced themselves as former students of the university, the Chhatra League men began an altercation, according to Masum. When contacted, Chhatra League DU unit President Abid Al Hasan said: “We will take necessary disciplinary action against all the accused.”DU Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani said: “We will take action against the accused attackers as per the university’s rules.”
