Former Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy backed HDK Cabs set to compete with Ola, Uber


BENGALURU: HDK Cabs , backed by former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy , has said that it plans to launch its services in Bengaluru in the middle of August. Kumaraswamy was unavailable to respond to ET's queries via phone or email. "There will be a heavy focus on driver benefits," said Tanveer Pasha, former president of the Ola TaxiForSure and Uber Drivers' Association, who is now one of the core team members of HDK Cabs. "The company plans to be three to four car categories that will show up on the HDK Cabs app, the name of which is still subject to change. "The SOS panic button is one of the main differentiators of the app from Ola and Uber," said Sumit Kumar, a coordinator for the technology team at HDK Cabs.
